Station 11's Lawn Fungus

After receiving numerous calls, the SFD wanted neighbors to be aware that the lawn at Station 11 (3214 S Perry Street) has a necrotic ring fungus that the Firefighters have been struggling with for years. The Station Captain and firefighters have tried several ways to try to improve the situation, but have found that the most successful solution to try to remedy this is to kill the existing lawn and reseed with a more resistant grass seed blend. They are in the process of doing that right now however the process makes the lawn look horrible. It is brown and gives the general public the impression that we are just not taking care of it.

We know it's not a pretty sight right now, but the we will be adding top soil to level out the bad spots, re-seeding and begin the watering process soon. Hopefully it will not be an eyesore for much longer.

To our neighbors, we are sincerely sorry and doing everything we can to correct it.
