**********************************************

Two people and a dog safely escaped a house damaged by an attic fire early Sunday. No one was injured and the cause has not been determined.

Firefighters were called to a single-story home at 2007 W. Nora at 12:22 am. Smoke and fire were reported in the attic space.

Firefighters' investigation revealed the attic space of the residence was fully involved with fire. Firefighters were on scene working to overhaul the structure until 3:30 am.

Damage to the attic and ceiling was extensive and estimated at $30,000. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Avista secured gas and electrical services and Red Cross assisted the occupants.
