NARRATIVE: At 10:06 AM, 5 companies of Spokane Firefighters and 1 Chief Officer responded to Mallon and Lincoln for a reported building collapse at Buck's Automotive. The initial dispatch report stated that a man had been seen shoveling snow on the roof shortly before the collapse. Engine 3, the first arriving company reported that the entire bay area of the automotive business had collapsed due to snow loads. The business owner who had been working earlier on the roof was in good condition. No injuries were incurred at this incident. The collapsed portion of the structure was in a new addition with a flat roof. This building complex is made up of several sections built at different time periods. Some sagging of the trusses was identified in one of the other adjacent sections. The decision was made to vacate and secure the entire structure until it can be surveyed for safety by a building engineer.
