At 09:45 PM, December 19, 2013 Spokane Fire Department crews responded to 1107 West Decatur on a reported structure fire. The first arriving Chief arrived on scene and reported a single story wood framed dwelling with smoke showing from the roof eaves. All of the occupants were reported safely out of the structure. Companies were assigned to extinguish and confine the fire, vertically ventilate the roof and protect the occupant’s valuables. The attic fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. Avista disconnected the power and natural gas to the home at least until the following morning. No injuries were reported by civilians or firefighters.
