The Spokane Fire Department hired our first woman firefighter on September 18, 1989.
Today there are 13 WOMEN Firefighters filling responsibilities as Operational Firefighters, Paramedics, Fire Equipment O...perators, Lieutenants and Division Chiefs.
Still more women hold key positions in SFD’s Divisions that oversee our Administration, Fire Prevention, Training and Support Services.
