NARRATIVE: Spokane Fire Department invites the media and the public to view a live fire demonstration that will dramatically compare the survival difference between a sprinklered and non-sprinklered room. This demonstration will begin at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, October 6 on the Gonzaga University campus at 1107 N. Hamilton St. (the northwest corner of Desmet Ave. and Hamilton.)

The demonstration will illustrate the rapid spread of a typical home fire as well as the reduction in fire loss whenever sprinklers are part of the fire safety system. Over 80% of all fire deaths in the U.S. occur where we feel the safest, in our homes.

Representatives from the American Red Cross Inland NW Chapter and Gonzaga University will participate as recognized community partners with Spokane Fire Department in this sprinkler demonstration and commemoration of National Fire Prevention Week 2010.
