Narrative:
This morning, 6/18/2013, at approximately 5:30 AM crews from the Spokane City Fire Department was dispatched to 3013 N. Lee on a reported structure fire. Firefighters from Station 2, located on North Foothills were the first to arrive and reported a 2-story wood framed house with fire and smoke showing from the main floor of the structure. E-2 was assigned to fire attack with the 2-crews from L-2 assigned to search and rescue and vertical ventilation. As additional fire crews arrived on scene they were assigned to horizontal ventilation, fire attack back-up and exposure protection. The fire was confined to the main floor with heat and smoke damage throughout the residence. The house was reported by neighbors to be vacant however one person was found occupying the home at the time of the fire and he was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Four engines, 2 ladders, a heavy rescue truck and 2 Battalion Chiefs responded to this incident and there were no injuries to firefighters.
Cause:
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigation Unit.
Damage:
Fire damage was confined to the main floor with heat and smoke damage throughout the residence.
