North Battalion House Fire

Narrative:
At 4:25 AM this morning, Friday, June 28th, the Spokane Fire Department dispatched 4 engines, 1 pumper ladder, 1 ladder truck, 1 heavy rescue and 2 battalion chiefs to a reported house fire at 4309 N. “A” Street in the City of Spokane. The first crew on scene reported flames visible from a front window and moderate smoke from the attic vents of the small, one-story house. Neighbors reported that the house was vacant. Crews conducted a search of the house for any victims and confirmed that it was vacant, and no victims were found. The fire was quickly knocked down and overhaul of the burned area was completed within two hours. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Spokane Police Department units assisted with traffic control during the incident.

Cause:
The cause of this fire is currently under investigation by the Special Investigation Unit of the Spokane Fire Department.

Damage:
Fire and heat damage to the house was confined to a bedroom and the kitchen, with smoke damage throughout the structure. The roof also received fire control damage.
