Broad. Initially, one company was sent on this alarm but the alarm was immediately upgraded after the crew discovered a fully involved motor home with flame impingement on a nearby church and a power line that had severed and dropped to the ground. Crews were concerned that the fire had extended to the interior of the church via a gable vent to the attic and through the flammable exterior vinyl siding. A ladder crew was sent to the interior of the church to see if any of the fire had indeed extended. At the same time, engine crews were busy with containing the fire in the motor home by using their preconnected hose lines. The fire was successfully knocked down after 10 minutes and the spread of the fire was limited to the exterior of the church and as a result of this, the interior of the church was spared. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. At this time, the cause is under investigation by the Spokane Fire Department Special Investigation Unit. The motor home was a total loss.
