Brief SIU Case Update

Narrative:
Update on two recent investigations:
The Spokane Fire Department’s SIU has arrested James J. Caraker (20 y/o male) for the intentionally set fire at 1834 West Gardner Avenue on 11/05/2012. Caraker was been booked into the Spokane County Jail on one count of Arson in the 1st Degree. (Incident #2012048169)
Additionally, Nicholas Brinton (21 y/o male) was charged with 2nd Degree Arson for the fire that burned the playground equipment in Shadle Park in August 2011. Mr. Brinton was interviewed in the Spokane County Jail where he is currently incarcerated on an unrelated residential burglary charge. The 2nd arsonist involved with the Shadle Playground fire is a 16 year old male. He was arrested and charged with Arson in the 2nd Degree on Thursday 11/29/2012 at approximately 10:00 am and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
